The FVCC online job board, CONNECT, is a place where employers looking to hire FVCC students can post job and internship openings, for current students, graduates and alumni. Just register as a student, search job listings, and then follow directions to apply.
An internship is a cooperative learning experience for students to gain real experience in a work environment. Students use their classroom knowledge and skills in a professional setting, explore types of jobs available in your chosen field and find out what areas interest you the most.
Student interns gain work experience that can added to resumes, begin to develop a professional network, gain references or referrals and may even be offered a job.
FVCC has a wealth of resources to help students prepare for employment. We offer two different online resume resources, the Ready Made Resume Guide and Career Coach. The Career Development Coordinator can assist you with preparing your application materials including a resume and cover letter and even help you hone your interview skills through a mock interview. A variety of free job search handouts, pamphlets and booklets are available in the Career Resource Room, LRC 128.
