Flathead Valley Community College’s Continuing Education Center will offer area residents ages 65 years or older the opportunity to choose from three non-credit classes as part of its Senior Seminars program. Each seminar runs for three weeks on Friday afternoons October 7 – 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. on FVCC’s Kalispell campus.
“Preserving Your Family History” will be taught by Beverley Zierow and is designed for students who are interested in learning how to organize family photos and papers, interview family members and compile these treasures into a history book.
Dr. Kymberli Stone will teach “Vitamins, Herbs, & Dietary Supplements.” Students will learn how to make informed choices by reading labels and deciphering the ingredients in vitamins and herbal supplements commonly available at drug stores.
Students interested in learning about local geology will enjoy Ashley Mason’s “The Story Behind the Landscape: Geology of Northwest Montana.” A geologist and former Glacier National Park naturalist, Mason will cover everything from ancient algae to Ice Age floods in this informative seminar.
The cost to enroll in one of these three seminars is $45 per person. Preregistration is required. For more information or to register, contact the Continuing Education Center at 756-3832 or firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.fvcc.edu/continuing-education.html.
