FVCC Continuing Education Course Explores Early Christianity

events_placeholderFlathead Valley Community College’s Continuing Education Center will host a non-credit course in October exploring the history of early Christianity and the formation of the Christian church. Taught by a former professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at Concordia College, “Windows on Early Christianity” is scheduled for three consecutive Saturdays beginning October 8 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at FVCC. Pre-registration and pre-reading are required to participate.

The course is based upon the book “Windows on Early Christianity: Uncommon Stories, Striking Images, Critical Perspectives” written by the instructor, Jim Aageson.

Aageson is ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ECLA) and a member of the ELCA Convocation of Teaching Theologians. He holds degrees from Pacific Lutheran University, Luther Seminary, Union Seminary and Oxford University. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Catholic Biblical Association, where he has served as an associate editor of the Catholic Biblical Quarterly. He has also served parishes in Great Falls and Anaconda.
